Getting married can be confusing
Chances are, if this is your first time getting married things can get pretty confusing. So many quality suppliers are available throughout the North West & the rest of the UK, all with different approaches & methods of working. I thought it might be helpful to put together a short list of my most frequently asked questions.
If you wish to ask a question about my approach to wedding photography not covered below, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Where are you based?
I’m a Liverpool Wedding Photographer based in Merseyside, but I’m available for weddings all over the UK and Europe. A round trip of 100 miles is included. If your wedding is further than that I do charge for travel expenses. Destination wedding? Just cover my accommodation and airfare and my package rates remain the same.
How long do you photograph at a wedding?
All my packages provide a minimum of 10 hours coverage with options for additional hours.
How long before we see our pictures?
Typical turnaround time is 6 weeks (up to 8 weeks in peak season). I do enjoy sending you a few sneak-peeks from the day for you to share with your friends and family online before you receive your full set of images.
Will you take us away from our guests for hours on end?
Absolutely not. My style is creative documentary wedding photography & this means relaxed, unposed & natural shots. All I need is 10 or 15 minutes at some point during the day for bride & groom “alone time”. You can read more about my approach here.
How many photos do we get?
I place no upper limit on the number of photos you receive, but usually it will be around 400 images and often more, all fully edited by me for colour and consistency throughout.
Can we print the photos?
This depends on which package you choose; my most popular package includes full printing rights to the images.
Do you still do traditional group shots?
I am happy to do them! I recommend you limit this to no more than 10 traditional groups, this will take between 15 – 30 minutes depending on the size of the groups. Your ushers and best man can be very helpful at this stage by gathering the people you need.
Are you insured?
I am fully insured. I have professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
How much is the deposit?
I ask for a non-refundable £300 booking fee to reserve your wedding date, with the remaining balance due 28 days before the big day.
What if I don’t like my photo being taken? I hate posing!
I know what you mean. I don’t like posing for pictures either! Posing doesn’t come easily to most people and I want your wedding photography to look and feel natural, spontaneous and emotional. My style is all about capturing the real you and the real joy of your wedding day. To put your mind at ease, I can give you some hints and tips before the day itself, or you could purchase an engagement session that are lots of fun and can really help you get used to being photographed!
What packages and prices do you offer?
Please visit my pricing page for more information.
What photography equipment do you use?
I use a variety of fast lenses coupled with two Nikon full-frame digital cameras with enough backup cameras & spares to see me through the day- and then some. Though I always prefer to photograph with natural light, I also have additional lighting equipment for when that is just not possible.
How do I book you?
Ideally we would first meet up for an informal chat to answer any questions or concerns you might have. Then, following the receipt of a signed contract and a small deposit on your chosen package, you’re booked!
We live far away from you- Can we Skype?
Yes, I have finally learned how to use Skype- thanks to one of my lovely couples from Canada!
Will you require a meal at our reception?
I never say no to food & a meal is always welcomed. If I eat while you eat, it means I won’t miss anything on the day.
Can I see some of your recent weddings?
Certainly, my recent weddings can be found on my photography blog and you can also find more examples of my work on Andrew Keher Photography’s Facebook page.
[Just for fun!]- Are you the photographer who captured the “Peekaboo Twins” video that went viral all around the world?
Yes! 🙂 Go and watch video here.
